David Holloway is one of the Partnership Managers for Bees Abroad, he looks after one of the larger groups in the Rwenzori Mountains in Western Uganda. David says “Working with a large group of beekeepers that keep excellent records, has given me the opportunity to look at the pros and cons (cost-benefit, sustainability, performance and environmental impact) of a wide range of hive types (Top Bar, Traditional Log and Woven Hives ) I would like to share with your group which should create some lively debate.
I will also talk about some of the other projects that Bees Abroad are actively involved with and will be promoting our Hive Twinning programme.”
David is also a Trustee of both Basingstoke and District BKA and Hampshire BKA, and has been keeping bees for about 7 years. He is actively involved with BDBKA’s training and mentoring programmes and is assistant apiary manager for Basingstoke’s training apiaries.
